There comes a time,

in your twenties,

when you lose your way.

You’re so caught up in this newfound adulthood that you forget that these are the best years.

The golden ones, in fact.

And even when you have to work a shitty job,

have no money or no food;

these are the only years for trial and error.

So you try things:

new food,

new places,

new friends,

new men.

And eventually, you’ll move on.

With or without your new things.

Sometimes,

things are not exactly as they appear.

You can be madly in love with someone who’s not right for you,

and be best friends with someone who doesn’t have your best interest at heart.

Companionship can sometimes cloud your judgement and as scary as being by yourself may seem,

you will always have yourself.

In your thirties or your twenties.
