B-film side loses me when Walking Dead goes there, just can’t care enough for next action sequence as they pile on with the almost corny villains.

Since seeing Broadchurch I have wondered what if it was filmed that way? Cameras, dialogue, landscapes, and pace. TWD could be wild, beautiful stretches of the American South (think final image of the zombie in field in opening credits) with punctuation of evil people / zombies. Sound scores to overture the places and spaces forgotten by human’s touch and used again.

I agree either slow it all the way down andhave some cohesive plan to get the coast with a boat / supplies and an island in mind (St. Simon’s, y’all, it’s so Georgia) or burn it all down in a ‘we-only-have-chain-saws-and-Home-Alone-style-trickery-left’ scene.
