Humility Is The Greatest Virtue

A humble person rarely gets angry because his ego is not hurt by the words of authority challenging him or by arguing with the other that he is right.

If we take the total value of all the chemicals present in a dead body, it will amount to a few dollars only. Human beings are priceless because of the soul present in our bodies. And the soul is the resting place of God’s spirit. A person who has come to this realization will be ready to forgive his enemies seven seventy times or in other words any number of times.

Humility is a cardinal virtue found in all great men who stood for the principles of life. It is true in the life of Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Swami Vivekananda and Abdul Kalam, the former president of India. All these people lived for others more than for themselves.

Humility means not just living a simple life but also putting into practice what he preaches. Jesus was humble enough to wash the feet of his disciples to show the world the need to become small and irrelevant in this world even if you are a great master. All these people practised servant leadership by being an example to other people in society.

Most often we watched Chinese movies in which the martial arts masters assign inferior jobs like cleaning the premises, bringing water from distant wells walking kilometres or helping in the kitchen for pupils even from wealthy families of society. This is to teach them humility and respect for everyone including the poor and the weak in society.
