Excellent work. Completely agree. We (as Americans) are more tribal than ever.

I fear this is a predictable end result of 50%+1 zero sum democracy where massive amounts of money are spent driving up the “opponents” negatives, promoting group think and reinforcing tribal allegiances.

Perhaps if the federal government were much smaller and allowed more regional variation there would be a less urgent need to legislate culture, more room for relaxed tolerance, and most importantly, less incentive to spend billions carving us up into easily manipulated user groups?
