Overall, I find the experience on the Yahoo website a bit cumbersome. That being said, as a return user of the Yahoo Fantasy Sports features of the website, it is far and wide the best website experience in the fantasy sports realm.

User Flow: Checking a fantasy football matchup score

The steps involved in checking a fantasy matchup are only bogged down by the initial sign in and navigation to the fantasy football portion of the Yahoo website. Once in the fantasy football section, the experience and flows from one action to another are extremely usable and quick to execute. I will be showing the flow for a user (not yet signed in) starting on the Yahoo homepage. Because of this, the flow does seem a bit cumbersome. Do not let this speak to the entire fantasy football experience with Yahoo. A frequent user may remain logged in and if they are to bookmark their league page (as many do) they would be a quick click or two from any task they need to accomplish. The Yahoo Fantasy Sports app has streamlined this process and isolates the positives from the websites fantasy sports section. That being said, many users (including myself) still flow through the website for the task of checking scores. The pages involved in the user flow are as follows:

  1. Yahoo.com Homepage
  2. Sign in Page
  3. Two Factor Authentication
  4. Yahoo Sports
  5. Fantasy Football
  6. League Page
  7. Matchup Page

Overall the process is not too hard to get through for a return user. Though for someone attempting their first time it may take a little bit of thinking. But, it has a quick level of learnability so be the second or third time coming back most users will have the hang of it. The Sign in and Two Factor Authentication portion are the steps that slow me down at this point. The process also seems slow to me because the flow of the Yahoo Fantasy App cuts out many of the navigation steps. Pages involved in the app user flow:

  1. Sign in Page
  2. Two Factor Authentication
  3. All Leagues Page
  4. Specific League Page
  5. Matchup Page
