A Small Reflection on Receiving Love

How many of your sins were future sins when Christ died on the cross…? All of them!! And yet Christ freely went to the cross. So when scripture says you were bought with a price, that Christ payed for your sin, it is important to understand that Christ KNEW what He was BUYING. You are not surprising Him. He already knew and He already went. In repentance you are already forgiven!! Do not let your fear or pride hold you back. You are fearfully loved and humbly accepted. Sin tells you, you are imperfect and undeserving of the acceptance of God, Christ says I received your imperfection that we might be unified. Recognizing we are imperfect and that there is nothing we have to do to fix it is one of the hardest realities to accept in life and yet it is the foundation of the Gospel that is the love of God. He gave His life for you as you are. You are loved!

So what do you with the knowledge of acceptance? For those who are not in relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, receive! All He asks for is your heart. Give Him your heart and let your life follow. Love is one of the scariest thoughts to give ourselves over to. I want you to know it is okay. To my brothers and sisters in Christ, receive acceptance! We fall short everyday and are not excluded from the constant need of grace and repentance. Remember it is our hearts He is after. Give Him your heart today and ask how you might actively love Him this day.

“For by GRACE you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8–9

“To all who did RECEIVE him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your BODIES as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship.” Romans 12:1
