Great article! ;) I agree that the future of marketing isn’t forms and great marketing definitely takes effort. But I’ve got thoughts on the other points:
- On taking a risk & making first impression — gated content shouldn’t be a total top of the funnel play where you attract interest in. If a marketer isn’t already producing great ungated content, creating gated content is setting up for trouble.
- SEO —there isn’t really any data on how SEO can be better for ungated content. SEO depends on a bunch of stuff with backlinks & domain authority being the 2 major determinants.
- Bad leads — for an inbound playbook, where volume is key, getting bad leads is inevitable. The levers to pull here should be lead scoring and further qualification processes.
