Bride: a whore with a sustainable strategy

I see them scattered, these little lights, dotting night. In the center of them resides a sun. Truly, she is one of them, but greater. I see how she demands a man to wait until he has committed to sacrifice his everything for her before opening herself. “Promise to always work, so I may simultaneously retire. Be willing to die in battle, if the battle threatens my safety. Swear to relinquish all of your time, talents and resources whenever I need them.”

“I do.”

“Now you may enter.”

These little lights offer man the same pleasure. The difference is, they open up before exacting so high a reward. The undiscovered variable is that he truly wants to pay the higher price, for with this payment comes the knowledge of the value of the same. In the giving of all, all is realized; in giving less, less is realized. And so they both lose, these little lights; while the greater light secures not only salvation for her own life, but fruition for his.
