Cheap Vs Lean: the UX culture debate

Lean Methodology, developed by Eric Ries in 2008, is a process for delivering products and businesses. Chronicled in his 2011 book “The Lean Startup”, Ries’ methodology is based on concepts borrowed from Lean Manufacturing, as developed by Japanese automakers in the 1980s. For lean practitioners, vision and untested assumptions are the only things they can hope for during the early stages of a new venture. Their task is to translate those assumptions into facts as quickly as possible. With limited resources, the challenge is to build less, get it out faster, and learn from experiences to make the next process faster. But does this mean that their process should be cheap? No, not quite.
