One of the most exciting aspects of self-improvement is the thrill of actually seeing the results in yourself. If you’ve ever embarked on a self-improvement mission, you’ve probably noticed that it’s one of the most frustrating and difficult aspects as well.

Why is that?

Usually, more than anything else, it’s a matter of consistency.

We decide to do something that we know is going to benefit us… let’s say run a mile every day. Then we set our alarm, strap on our shoes, and hit the road… for about three days. Then, something happens and we’re too tired, or we get sick, or we go on vacation, and life gets in the way. Then, suddenly, it’s been four days and we haven’t run once.

Then what happens?

We get fed up and we surrender!
