I have to tell you, I nearly stopped reading in the second paragraph.

I’m sorry that paragraph hit you that way. My intention was not to say “back off” or even “she’s mine,” but more “this woman is loved.” It’s not about me, it’s about her. While it IS just a ring, it also depicts, in a way, the love, care, and affection that I am able to provide her. Love is beautiful, the ring should be, too! I hope when she looks at her finger she feels loved, safe, cared for, happy, etc…and that she knows that I would do absolutely anything for her. In a way it’s as if I am by her side all the time, for both her and the folks that she might meet…they all might know that she is loved and cared for.
