Not Dead ~ or ~ Seen on a Walk

The color contrasts between the pond algae and the busily-munching-algae duck were irresistible — the walk stopped as I snapped away. Not once did I manage to capture this guy sitting up, classic duck style. To be fair, he rarely stopped gobbling.

The texture and sheen of those wing and back feathers look so beautiful to me. If I were a painter, I’d paint those luscious colors, this lovely bird. Maybe sitting up, classic duck style. But maybe not.
