MY EFFORT OR HIS EFFORT

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1 : 18

I was assigned to clean a greasy floor, that had not seen any proper cleaning in years. The thought of all the effort I had to put in to get the floor into its old state was enough to make me want to give up. So I decided to apply my bleach, wait for a few minutes and scrub. Honestly after scrubbing for about 30 minutes, I noticed that I needed more than a day’s scrubbing to get the floor to its original state.

Are you trying to scrub your life clean? Are you trying to use your own effort to be saved. Just as my effort could not deal with the dirt, your efforts are futile.

However I have great news for you. You don’t need to go through the arduous task of being right with God, when He has paid the price.

All God requires of you is to believe in His son; Jesus Christ (John 3: 16). In today’s scripture, God is calling us to come to Him, just as we are. Jesus has paid the price. No sin is too much for Him.

This is an invitation to a brand new life. Give up on your efforts, for His effort.
