We’re all depressed.

Just admit it. You’re armor of stoicism isn’t admirable and it won’t help you feel better, or get you through whatever situation your currently immersed in

Depression breeds inaction. It promotes feelings of inadequacy and self doubt. Depression masks itself behind false bravado, and a carefully edited facade of perfection.

So how should we deal with depression? The answer is simple. Take D.F.A…what is D.F.A.? It’s DRASTIC FUCKING ACTION.

Depression should be viewed as the milestone between our old selves and the renewed excited version of ourselves that exists on the other side of the horizon.

Depression is a signal we need to bitchslap fear and take on new challenges. Depression signals that we need to be audacious, and question what we perceive as social norms, and expand our mind sets in ways that embolden us and enrich our lives.

Our emotions reflect so much of who we are as humans…they’re transitory and transformational. Depression is a place we’ve all been. It’s a place we’ll visit many times over not because we’re suckers for pain, but because we’re willful, and enduring.

Instead of making depression an enemy to be avoided, or a stigma that fosters shame, we should make depression our fucking bitch. We should see depression as a dare to reveal our vulnerabilities, and simultaneously uncover our strengths. Courage only makes an appearance when we do shit that scare us. Holy Fucking Revelation.

When we stop being ashamed of depression we might become better capable of dealing with it in the variety of ways our advanced civilization offers.

We should just acknowledge and embrace its existence whether it’s through medication, meditation, therapy, spirituality, fitness…just do what makes you better.

So if you’re wondering whether going to see that shrink is going to be a waste of time…STOP WONDERING! Set the appointment and talk to the doctor. If you’re worried about what people will think…STOP IT…you feeling better matters a shit ton more than their opinions…

I’m just here to let you know that life gets a whole lot better once you decide to value your self care over the unrealistic superhero illusion we publicize in media and to each other. I’m letting you know that when all your friends are telling you they’re blessed and highly favored what they’re really saying is “I was/am going through some bullshit I didn’t think I could survive, but than I got some help.”

So are you ready to take Drastic Fucking Action?

Peace*Love* Light*
