While building your app you may already think of its marketing and promotion. Why not to introduce your app concept to your potential users? Maybe you can ask them some questions, get to know their needs better? Or just gather some emails, so when you are ready to show the world your app you have a solid base of potential users you can reach to. Either of this is a valid reason to build a landing page for your app. I will tell you my way of doing this from the perspective of a person that does not know any backend technology but has a knowledge of HTML and CSS. We are going to build a static, nicely designed landing page like this.

The ideas I had, but did NOT follow

I thought of something really simple, just an image or a background, few words of introduction and a subscription form. I also looked for a solution that is free of charge. So out of scope my consideration was such services like Unbounce, where only 30-day trial is available. I was considering:

In both scenarios it turned out this is not what I am looking for. I could not find a template that would suit my needs entirely. This is because in free versions you are not able to customise CSS or HTML. You get some ready to use…
