After rereading my reply I can understand why you would suggest I was blaming our politicians. But I guess what I really wanted to say, and for the avoidance of doubt, I blame the leftist, elitist middle class, who are spectacularly out of touch with modern UK (and Europe). A group which appears to be lead by our politicians.
Personally, I love Europe! I adore Paris and Amsterdam in particular… I have lived and worked in Copenhagen and Milan (and loved it), and as much as I love the idea of free boarders and free trade, I don’t accept an unelected quasi-government leading our country as part of some super-Europe state. I completely understand the fears of the working majority. My point was, those politicians (I may be blaming) have a responsibility to represent all the people, not just the ones they agree with. This is typified by our exiting prime minister who hasn’t got the backbone to implement the will of his people! Ironically, he’s propagating the myth that extreme views count! They don’t, he should do his job and work with the outcome!
I’m Brexit and a proud, open minded (immigrant/refuge welcoming) British citizen; and I love my country, I love and respect everyone living in the UK. I especially love our European cousins (particularly those that feel Anglophile), but unfortunately it’s just not that simple… If only.
Please see past the political rhetoric and mudslinging… Britain is still a great country and the vast majority of the 17.4 million are not small-minded racists… They just want what they believe is justice for them… We need to listen, and act positively…
