One public office, one book

My ID document expired so this morning I went to the public office in charge due to have a new one so, before leaving the house I took a book -just in case- thinking I could go out in time for lunch.

Silly me, we should never underestimate bureaucracy.

I spent all this day in that place. In fact, I had time enough to read a whole book. There was not a single word without reading.

336 pages of Romulo Gallegos’ Canaima.

How crazy is that?

The most interesting thing was that at the end, the lady in the office told me:

See you next week, in seven days your document, probably, might be ready.
