Yes, it’s true. She wrote things like this:

Miss Highsmith had a great gift and we can feel it in every piece of her writing.

I knew her because, years ago I had read Strangers on a Train but, on this monday I finished The talented Mr. Ripley and loved it. So, yesterday I took Carol (The Price of Salt) just to read the beginning and read 60 pages; today I said: I’ll read just one chapter and could not stop until finished the book.

It’s like magic.

I’m so glad we can still read her books in the 21th century.
