Renewal, an ongoing process

Renewal, defined as “replacing or repair of something that is worn-out, run down or broken”. The very act of renewal is based on the premise that there’s been and continues to be damage to something. Before you become a believer, your mind and heart are in that state of damage. The Bible talks about renewal in 2 Corinthians 4:16 in the context of daily inner repair even as our bodies waste away, death of our bodies is inevitable, but eternal life is promised to believers. Reading the chapter in it’s entirety, we as believers are instructed to set our hearts and minds on God (things that are unseen) 2 Corinthians 4:18, and not on the temporal things that fade away. In order to set our minds on the things of God, our minds must be transformed through RENEWAL Romans 12:2- “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”. It is an ongoing process that draws us closer to God.
