brave relatives of right wing bigots stand up for America

Recently I read a blog where it was suggested that compromise was needed in today’s political environment. I was the only that took exception to part of that suggestion. While I believe that NORMALLY one has to compromise, I have absolutely no desire or inclination to compromise in the days of trump and his support of White Nationalism, attacks on the free press, and bullying anybody and everybody. And that doesn’t even include his horrible cruelty to people because of their ethnicity.

In addition, before he even got into office, he was already spouting lies about Muslims celebrating the 9–11 attack from New Jersey and the longer standing lie that Obama was not American. The facts are that Obama was born in Hawaii and there is no indication, except the deluded mind of the man sitting in the oval office, when he is not on one of his expensive excursions to one of his properties, that there were any Muslim having any kind of party.

The simple fact is that trump got into power by accepting help whoever would or could provide, and used racial and religious prejudice and fear to con the citizenry into voting for hm…and still got less than half the popular vote.

But what is even sadder is the number of lives that have been impacted. We are not talking here, about the middle class forced to pay higher income tax in order to subsidize large corporations with the false hope of “trickle down economics”, we are talking about friendships and families that are ad odds. A gauntlet has been thrown down by the people who support trump despite the harm he has done to our nations soul and heart.

Myself, I have merely lost a quasi friend or two. Interesting enough, both of those persons were people who were all in for free speech. When I expressed my opinion, however, it was unforgivable. But since they were defending a person that I consider EVIL, while I am sorry it came to that, but I will not back down. If they want not to be friends, more power to them.

What is even sadder, and I might add braver, however, is when it is in one’s own family. Personally, I have no family that losing would be a horror. I have only a few cousins, most of whom I have no connection with to begin with.

However I want to applaud Curtis Ingraham, and two of Paul’s Gosar’s (from Arizona) brothers. The two brothers publicly campaigned for Paul’s opponent, and Curtis Ingraham is the brother of Laura, one of the most vehement spouters of trump propaganda on television today. Neither of these two families will get together this year from Thanksgiving or Christmas this year.

Why? Because Gosar stands up trump on separating kids from their parents and putting them in concentration camps on the border. Paul indicates that his sister is like his father. She hasn’t fallen far from the true. The father was a Nazi sympathizer and Laura is siding with a man who uses racial, ethnic and religious prejudice to stoke the fear of the naive and get political power.

All three are standing up for decency and for the American ideal that we have always said we represented. Those ideals being equality for all, and compassionate concern for human rights especially for those oppressed…you know the “American Dream” against people who are trying to destroy those ideals and turn the country into the opposite.

Three heroes fighting the evil of the extreme right wing demagogue attempt to take over the country and make life bad for anybody but rich white people who own corporations.
