Hack your Latin, part 3: The Victory Lap

I’ve very much enjoyed reading these columns of hacks, Michael! But it seems a little perverse to refer to an article on Wackernagel’s law that has in its abstract: “Weak pronouns in Classical Latin are generally believed to have adopted the second position in their clause, in conformity with Wackernagel’s law. In this paper it is shown that pronouns are not regularly placed second at all in Classical prose.” I look forward to your reply on behalf of Wackernagel! 😉
