THIS Should Have Been Enough!

Trump: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters.”

At a campaign stop in Sioux City, Iowa, Donald Trump said:

“You know what else they say about my people? The polls, they say I have the most loyal people. Did you ever see that? Where I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s like incredible,” Trump said. 1

Seduced Trump Supporter: “What a jokester! I love his political incorrectness.”

Sane Person: “Who says things like that? What reasonable leader would want to know that his people are so loyal that they would commit crimes and moral offenses?”

Seduced? Virginia Hume in a National Review article, April 1, 2016, makes a case that Trump is a master seducer and has systematically chosen a target audience and said whatever was necessary to seduce them into a state where he could make the above statement and they would follow him anyway. 2

Hume makes the case that we cannot afford to treat Trump as anything less than a ruthless, calculating master manipulator. She states, “I’ve recently learned, however, that Donald Trump is not an idiot. He might even be a genius.” Writing before the election, she further stated, “Donald Trump is seductive. And those of us who have resisted his charms thus far better start getting our heads around this fact or we will never beat him.”

Obviously, we didn’t get the message in time. Now we need to learn more about him and his followers. Facts and reason aren’t going to be enough. Read the article below. How do we protect our democracy from this insanity?
