Making a Habit of Writing

I consume and utilize a lot of information and services, but at heart I desire to be someone who creates. I want to create value for other people and create to look back upon a physical manifestation of my hard work. Therefore, as another small step in my pursuit of self-improvement, I want to begin writing more. Even if no one ever reads my stories. Even if I receive harsh criticism or judgement, I want to begin a more proactive, concrete approach to “living my best life.”
I believe that most individuals, despite having a passion for art or design or writing or data science or finance or anything, never overcome their fear of judgement and criticism. Content creators are brave people. Putting content out for other people to see, read, criticize can be nerve-wracking. Pursuing a passion or hobby with privacy is no crime; however, personally I believe that an individual reaches a hard plateau in skill and motivation without an outside force pushing him or her.
I haven’t written much about anything in a long time and this first article is more of a rant and a beginning rather than anything I would call quality work. But I’m tired of my perfectionist tendencies slowing down my personal growth. So here’s to imperfection and to the beginning of a new journey.
