This looks like a good idea to improve participation in Web standards, but Alice Boxhall pointed out that there’s a good chance that if existing organizations start Chapters, they’ll reflect the existing lack of diversity in web standardization—namely that we’re nearly all white men.

I’m based in Portland, OR, and if I participate in one of these Chapters, I’d want it to be organized by some group that’s already diverse and paying attention to its diversity. Unfortunately, I’m also new to Portland, so I don’t know what organizations those are. Mara Zepeda, do you know of good leads?
