Review: This is a critical body of work for those of us that have been victims of gaslighting in our lives . I appreciate the ARC from the publisher and author for review. My review opinion is my own.

Gaslighting is the practice of psychologically manipulating someone into questioning their own sanity. It is commonly done by sociopaths and abusers as well as abusive family members , manipulators , controlling friends and even those you date. . Many women are abused on the job and a abusive boss may use this form of control to frame women and ruin their reputation. It is used by stalkers, ex’s and sociopath’s. It is often found on the job today, in the dating world and even in your church and among your controlling aggressive friends. Women often suffer in silence not understanding that they are not at fault here. Many people suffer this abuse as children and grow up withdrawn and feeling they are inadequate. It is real, it is traumatic and it has long term effects. It is a common form of traumatic long term emotional abuse. it can be a long healing process through this abuse and this workbook I highly recommend for everyone affected in their lives by this terrible abuse.

The author has created a sensitive workbook here that uses tools for recovery. The first step is to profile your abuser which can be difficult for many recovering from abuse. The author moves on to positive exercises that help you to recover using positive thoughts with your recovery. I love that the author focuses on regaining your confidence in self and provides exercises. This is a hard subject for victims and the author has created a unique and positive work book to help you with your recovery. I highly recommend this book for all who have been traumatized in their life by this form of abuse. Very well done to the author and thank you. Use this book for your recovery and you will emerge from this abuse with recovery and strength.

Review: Not very helpful for recovery at all. This book seemed to be more intentional about trying to familiarize the reader with concepts of LGBT acceptance than any true help related specifically to gas lighting recovery. Very frustrating when you are in need of resources for healing and waste money and time on something that is so off track from what it is advertised to be. This book was so worthless, I threw it away.

Review: I am in my mid 30’s and am the adult survivor of a rough childhood. My life is a mess and I know so much of it is linked to my past. I have not found most counselors to be helpful. This book was very helpful for me. I realized that even as an adult my family had such a hold on me. I had allowed the negative messages through my life to convince me I deserved this treatment. This book has helped me realize that I am an okay person. I am not the horrible person my family accused me of being.

Review: This book has empowered me. I suspected my recent ex gaslighted me but it turns out so did my first abusive ex and my bullies. Being able to understand what it was and know they were all liars, was empowering. I couldn’t get my head right for a while. After reading the first couple chapters, I felt something break in a good way. I nearly cried in relief. I suddenly could sleep. I could name their lies and take the power out of them. I realize there is NOTHING wrong with me. It was them. This has changed my confidence, given me my hope back, help me find myself again. Thank you so much to the author. I bought a copy for another person who needed it. I will keep trying to raise awareness and get people (men and women) to recognize they are being gaslighted. Now, I’m about to conquer the world!!
