Unless you’re really good at it, jokey and cutesy stuff gets irritating quickly.

Not only irritating but possbily tone-deaf all the way up to offensive. Cute copy in your web app can’t see the pulsing vein in your forehead, the gritted teeth and red face, but the teller can. Guess which one is going to respond appropriately?

Reminds me of the amazing short film, “Mary and Max” where the title character, who suffers from autism, keeps a book on a string around his neck that helps him match emotions to the expressions on the faces of people he encounters. A web app can’t even do that!

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?
