Bernadette, THANK YOU so much for this article! You’ve put my life into perspective, after I’ve spent endless night awake wondering about “What was wrong with me?”. I’ve started out as a biologist, learned programming, went on to a PhD in Biochemistry, all the while longing for arts. I am now working as a science journalist, attending acting school part-time and doing theatre shows. I have to share your article with a looong list of people who keep asking me “Why?” won’t I choose “a proper” career path :)
