I’m currently working in a team about to release an app solving a disconnect between consumers and their local stores. And what intrigued me was how you talk about making sure:

“…users were invested enough to come back and worked on making sure it is always rewarding to open the application.”

Would mind elaborating on this? Were you using a monetary reward? How did you make sure?
