Hi, my dynamic fellow writers! 👋

Next week, it will mark my one-month anniversary on Medium. (Yay, drumroll 🥁, please 🤣) And since yet another month went by, I wanted to take a few minutes to write this quick wrap-up post 📝 for September.

September has been full of learning, experimentation, and new beginnings.

I finally gave writing a shot, read a couple of game-changer books (that I will talk about ahead), and since I have never been in the 5 a.m. club 🕔, I have to mention that in the beginning of September, I challenged myself to wake up with the crack of dawn. Just kiddin’.

By the way, I manage to wake up before 6 to take some time to sit with my morning muse and do some inner work🧘🏼‍♀️. So far, I sort of enjoy my early hours of the morning.

No more build-up! I hope you enjoy reading these roundups once every month. So, let’s dive right into it:

1️⃣ My most viewed stories: Let’s start by giving myself a pat on the shoulder for sticking with writing for a month (and more). You won’t know how lazy I am, so let me tell you, I would have never dared to wake up at 6 a.m. in life or attempted to leave my comfort zone if it were not for writing.

Here are three of my most-viewed posts. Feel free to check them out and show them some love (read, clap, or comment).

2️⃣ Stories that inspire: Here’s the list of my top September reads: some of the incredible stories on Medium that made me pause and reflect on my journey, purpose, and happiness. I hope they do the same for you. Go, Check them out!

Reading list

19 stories

3️⃣ Book I adored 📖: Besides writing, reading is the one thing writers adore so much (I mean, most do). So here’s my latest nonfiction read, which is quite popular and you may have already read:

Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World is a game-changer.

Bestseller author Cal Newport explores the art of intense concentration in a world of distractions. He lays out strategies to dig deep into meaningful work and achieve real results. This book is a must-read if you’re tired of the constant buzz and want to excel in your pursuits.

4️⃣ Music for the soul 🎶: If there’s one thing, other than writing, that has the power to bring us closer to ourselves as much as interconnect us, it’s music.

While I am more into eccentric songs and artists, you may have different tastes in music. Do share with me the album you recently discovered that became your favorite and listen to it in loop now. I would love to know.

5️⃣ Quote of the Month: Lastly, a quote is all we need to start a new month with full positivity, anticipation, and enthusiasm. Below is a quote from Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga’s bestseller, The Courage to Be Disliked, to keep you going for the month(s):

No matter what has occurred in your life up to this point, it should have no bearing at all on how you live from now on. That you, living in the here and now, are the one who determines your own life.

That’s it with September, creative minds! It’s October, and that leaves only three months left this year. How much closer have you gotten to your goals? What steps are you taking daily to accomplish them? Or, where do you want to see yourself by the end of 2023? Perhaps you want to share with me your thoughts in the comments. And I would love to read and reply to them, as always!
