There is no “technology industry”

Thanks Anil for this much needed piece. I moved to India a couple of years ago and saw similar behavior with regards to “food tech”. This term was abused to describe companies who were partnering with brick and mortar restaurants to deliver food to consumers, instead of them managing their own fleets of delivery people. These companies would be more accurately described as delivery or logistics companies, enabled by technology to get something time sensitive, in this case food, from point A to B, in urban areas. Coming from the US, I had always understood food tech as reference to companies innovating around the actual food we eat.
