Thank you for your story filled with the love of a daughter. We do deserve better. We deserve a civil public discourse. One in which we listen to others with empathy. One that challenges our ideas. One that leads us to conclusions that respect the dignity of every human being. Unfortunately, we have let out innate goodness be appropriated by the hate that thrives in social media. Still, I have hope that this election cycle will act as both a catharsis and catalyst in public discourse. A catharsis of those who feed on our baser nature and a catalyst to revive civil discourse.
