30 Days of Google Cloud Program

This blog is all about 30 Days of Google Cloud event held during September 25th to November 5th 2020 for those colleges which had DSC (Developer Student Clubs).

This event was under Developer Student Clubs chapter of Google which aimed to provide students an experience of working with Google Cloud Platform.

I was selected as a Campus Facilitator for my college (MBES College of Engineering, Ambajogai). During the course of the event and my role was to encourage students to participate and to mentor them as they work with the Google Cloud Platform.

The program had 2 tracks for the students to complete:

  1. Cloud Engineering Track
  2. Data Science and Machine learning Track.

Each track had 6 quests from Qwiklabs to complete. Every quest contained approximately 6 labs. After completing a quest, a student acquires a Google cloud digital skill badge of that quest on his/her qwiklabs profile which can be shared on social media sites like linkedin. For more info about qwiklabs you can visit www.qwiklabs.com

Cloud Engineering Track was an introduction to the Google Cloud products, its infrastructure and services.

Data Science and Machine learning track gives a glimpse of application of Data science and Machine learning on Google Cloud.

Upon completion of each track, a student can claim rewards and swags for that track. If a student completes both the tracks, then he/she will recieve perks of both the tracks along with certificate of participation.

A Facilitator can also participate and complete the tracks along with mentoring peers of his/her college. A Facilitator also would recieve facilitator schwags and an Appreciation certificate from Google along with track perks.

These perks contain Google Cloud T Shirt/Hoodie/Laptop bag and are given as a reward to motivate students to gain new skills using Google Cloud Platform.

As a campus facilitator, I was fortunate to get a chance to communicate with other facilitators who represented nearly 250 colleges all over India and also with the Program managers of Google. Their help, mentoring and presence motivated me to lead my campus students with utmost dedication.

It certainly boosted my leadership skills as a facilitator and also my Google cloud skills as I was able to help students with their problems as they complete their tracks.

I find it as a great opportunity from which I developed career ready skills of Google Cloud Platform and building and leading a community. It certainly was an experience to cherish.
