what did you mean by an orphan? An orphan is a child who lost their parents. In common, an orphan does not have any surviving parent to take care of him.

Orphans

What does World Say?

In the United States, the definition of Orphan is a minor bereft through “death or disappearance of, abandonment or desertion by, or separation or loss from, both parents”. However, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) says any child who has lost his one parent as an orphan. Over 140 million orphans are in the world (CAFO 2018)those are abandoned, neglected, and vulnerable.

Where does Orphan Come from?

This is the main question that we always read or hear in the news all the time. This all happen because of war, natural disasters, poverty, diseases, abandonment, and accidents. Through these ways, children become orphans after no one helps them. This is the turning point of their lives and takes the wrong way of life. Children under the age of 18 are forced to take arms as child soldiers.

World Ratio of Orphan

According to UNICEF, there are 140 million orphans globally including 61 million in Asia, 52 million in Africa, 10 million in Latin America and the Caribbean, and 7.3 million in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. According to this 15.1 million have lost both parents.

There are many things to write about orphans but I salute those who help these children and give them life.

Here are some NGOs:

These NGOs provide them with houses and educational services.
