Six Months in, by the Numbers

By Charles Thomas Mort

$3T+ record gains Wall Street has made since Trump took office

$300B value of companies and jobs returning to US (remains to be seen)

$54B in additional budget funding requested for Defense Department to rebuild “depleted military” (not necessarily a good thing)

$25B Trump ensures funding for historic black colleges and universities (Obama invested 4B in seven years)

$103B decrease in national debt since inauguration

10,000 additional U.S. Customs and Immigration officers and 5,000 more border patrol agents added by executive order

3500+ pedophiles arrested -Trump issued an executive order giving the FBI extra power to crack down on human trafficking offenses

115 record stock market closings

100% of all wait times are now published at the Veterans Affairs health system online, backed up by a new Veterans Affairs Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection; this executive order makes it clear that we will never, ever tolerate substandard care for our great veterans (seeing will be believing)

50% cut in UN funding

42% increase this year, using the Choice Program, the number of veterans approved to see the doctor of their choosing

40% (some areas 90–95%) decline in illegals crossing borders; lowest numbers in 17 years

31% reduction in the 2018 budget request for the EPA, below last year’s level (not necessarily a good thing)

30 days in, Trump nullified Obama-era gun control order that required the Social Security Administration to share records of individuals who receive Disability Insurance benefits, information that could tarnish their background checks when attempting to buy a gun (potentially endangering their Second Amendment rights)

13% reduction in the 2018 budget request for Dept. of Education, below last year’s level (not necessarily a good thing)

10 year setback in move towards globalism (highly subjective granted, though every little bit helps)

+1,-2: requirement that for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations are eliminated

One complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American election

One instruction to the military to draft a plan to destroy ISIS and keep the plague of radicalism from our shores

One reversal of turning military decision-making back over to the Pentagon after he gives them orders, the way it use to be sixty years ago; the bureaucracy hates this because they can no longer control the military through the POTUS; President and Defense Secretary have moved American war fighting from a campaign to liberate lands held by ISIS to a campaign to eradicate ISIS

One final leg to Keystone XL pipeline to cross from Western Canada to the United States, transporting more than 800,000 barrels of oil a day (not necessarily a good thing)

One executive order to uncover issues of voter fraud and suppression

One reversal of Obama’s ‘war on coal’ by increasing clean coal usage (merits could be debated, unless you live in West Virginia); also canceled restrictions on the production of oil and natural gas

One executive order to start pulling the federal government out of K-12 education, following through on a campaign promise to return school control to state and local officials

First hire Americans, Trump signs ‘Buy American and Hire American’ executive order; ensuring that government agencies enforce “Buy American” rules and give preference to American companies

First president since the 1800s to have a Supreme Court nominee confirmation in his first 100 days (albeit with a slight, sleight of hand)

First president in modern times to conceal his tax returns and scrapping an Obama-era policy of publishing a list of White House visitors (so less transparency, perhaps)

Zero chance of. White House officials lobbying for foreign governments with Trump’s five year ban via executive order

Zero chance of TPP Trans-Pacific Partnership) passage (great news unless you have zero understanding of its implications…think NAFTA and GATT; i.e. free trade ain’t free!)

Zero chance of White House officials lobbying for foreign governments with Trump’s lifetime ban

Zero, erased climate control agenda (good unless you believe carbon dioxide is bad for the planet)

And finally, Trump’s pullout of the Paris climate accord infuriates the elitists and their deep state lackeys (CO2 is good!), saving USA $100s of BILLIONS over the next ten years
