On a Greyhound west

Bounding over sand dunes

Dawns on me like a losing bet

Border’s on my left

With fences high and built by

Notherners participating

In discriminating behavior

Who’ll be the savior of the people

Shot down or shot dead

For commuting to their hometown

Or their family’s homestead?

I think they deserve a real shot

Not bought at over a thousand dollars a pop

Just like we all got

Our culture is strengthened by those

Who know what it means to have

When they’ve always had not
