Eyah & Dave’s Coconut Shell Craft

Dave posing with some of his creations.

It’s not a secret that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of each and everyone of us, one way or another. For Kuya Dave, he had to fly back home, unscheduled, as one of the many repatriates from Oman in 2020.

As he sits and ponder what may be a good source of income, he was reminded of his visit with his relatives in Bicol back in 2012. At the time, he was amazed at coconut shell art pieces that he saw.

So off to the market he went; buying coconut shells from vendors who sold grated coconut meat (see the great repurpose here?). Then, he started working on first, one piece, then another.

Nowadays, aside from the coconut soap dishes you can buy from https://shopee.ph/kalimbahinonline, he also works on custom-made lamp shades, table ornaments, desk organizers, and many more. The lamp shade pictured here (2nd frame) is priced between php300 to php400, including the light fixture and wiring. It takes him a couple of hours to finish a piece and then ship it to you the following day.

Please check out their Shopee page (and the really cute bird feeders) here:

Kalimbahin Online as their client:

I like the professionalism; clear expectations were properly set and deadline was met. The items (I refer to the soap dish here) are very sturdy and well-made.
