Anyone who is making an argument against the religiously motivated ethnic cleansing of Indian Kashmiri Hindu Pandits would do well to reflect on the following:
- Is human rights violation against Hindus counted only if they are actually killed? Are death statistics the only measure of human rights violation?
- Where, in the human rights spectrum, does blaring slogans like ‘Ralive, Tsaliv ya Galive’ (either convert to Islam, leave the land, or die) from mosques fit in? https://www.indiatoday.in/fyi/story/exodus-of-kashmiri-pandits-january-19-jammu-and-kashmir-304487-2016-01-19. Has the Kashmiri Muslim been asked to convert, leave or die?
- Shall we compare how many mosques in Kashmir were destroyed (if at all) by Hindus — between 1989 and 2019 — with the number of temples destroyed in the same period in Kashmir? https://www.hindustantimes.com/india/208-temples-damaged-in-kashmir-in-last-two-decades-kashmir-govt/story-s5dlIY9G8cM373tMK1S9GN.html
Often times, not showing an inclination to recognise ethnic cleansing and genocide is the first step in supporting/endorsing it. https://hindugenocide.com/islamic-jihad/seventh-exodus-of-kashmiri-hindus-4l-hindus-estranged-overnight/
