If you know, you know.

I am just gonna let my thoughts flow and see what words it concocts while listening to Japanese music. I may tell you where, when and why I like the song in this playlist.

Sparkle by RADWIMPS — I first listened to this song when I watched the Your Name anime movie. When Mitsua looks at her hand to see Taki’s name but finds his confession of love, this one plays and it was and IS still perfect. A year after watching Your Name , I watched Suzume in theatres with my juniors. One of them mentioned that for both of these movies the same band composed music. It is at this point in time, I decide to check out the songs in Your Name anime movie. I listened to a LIVE rendition of this song by the same band and I was enthralled by the experience. It gave me a sense of calm, which is hard to find while slowing progressing into the world. The lines in the song which had more emotions (from my POV), the piano and everything.. was just perfect. I don't know the exact words in Japanese, so here is the translated version of the same.

Even the way I love smelled like you
Even the way I walked carried the sound of your laughter
Faced with the reality that you will eventually disappear
I have no choice but to burn your existence into my memory with these two eyes
I don’t think its a right anymore, but my obligation

Yura Yura by HEARTS GROW — It was while watching Naruto I came across this beautiful piece of song. It was in one of the opening credits. I usually skip most of the anime opening songs, but this one just caught my ear and stayed with me.
First listen: This is nice, might listen again.
Second listen: This might be my favorite opening song.
Seventh listen: YURA YURA TO YUGANDA SORA E

Lost Game by Nulbarich — I came across this masterpiece through Instagram Reels. At least some good came out of that IG stuff. I listened to this song with translation on YouTube and I was like.. Wow. This is my next favorite song and it went on to become my most played song in 2022. I can say that ’cause numbers don’t lie. Okay. Spotify Wrapped told me. The line that had me hooked was this:

Just a little more time, stay along
I can’t go home yet feel alone alone
Hey I can’t do anything anymore, I’m tired,
To the end of this world, let go let go
