A Chance Encounter

They met while holidaying with friends.

As soon as she saw him, she felt an instant connection — as though she knew him.

Those 6 days were magical.

They talked about various topics under the sun and visited holiday destinations in the city together.

They met several times over the year, always as part of a group. But when met, it seemed like there was only 2 of them.

The laughed at the same things, finished each other’s sentences. One of them would comment on something without knowing that the other already had.

Yes, a magical bond. An electric bond.

Then they spent a wonderful holiday in his home town.

He introduced her to the finer things. She finally found balance in life.

But like all good things, this came to an end too.

They parted just as mysteriously as they met.

The calls, the messages… they all died with time.

It was the most painful kind of parting… the one where you don’t want someone to leave and no goodbyes are said.

She was heartbroken. Why did this have to happen?

In agony, she cried out to God, who seemingly did not hear.

But He turned her around to view the last 5 years.

There was a clear difference in her.

The broken heart had allowed the light to permeate to all parts of her. Her face glowed and
eyes shone.

Their meeting had made her beautiful inside out even more.

“You were always beautiful, you just didn’t know”, He said.

“He came to show you things about yourself that no one else could show.”

“In meeting him, you met you. And he left when the job was done.”

The wound is the place where the light enters you. - Rumi
