Well, iPhone 8 is just around the corner with possible release in September 2017, and Apple fanboys going crazy over rumors and leaks of iPhone 8, to say the least.

If you are living under a rock or living on Mars, here’s the picture rumoured design that iPhone 8 might have.

Have a really close look at it and try to make an opinion about the design.

Done? Great!! Now have a look at following existing phone designs

  1. Essential Phone, a phone by company named Essential, founded by the guy who created Android, Andy Rubin.

The design is way ahead of what Apple ever could release in iPhone 8. Admire the beauty for a moment. BTW you can buy this phone like today with $699.

2. Xiaomi Mi Mix, a concept phone which is also available for sale has highest screen to body ratio of 91%, which means 91% part of the front is just display.

Do you still think Apple is still going with a similar design innovation with iPhone 8?

3. Samsung Galaxy S8, this phone has taken design innovation from a concept to consumer’s hands, the best rated mobile display in the world that wraps around the sides of the phone is just gorgeous to look at.

Now that I have proved (well, sort of) the point that Apple is not trying to innovate in terms of design, it doesn’t mean that they aren’t moving ahead in terms of smartphone performance which is almost top with every iteration of iPhone.

Then why is Apple not innovating anything with iPhone 8?

Because they don’t really have to!!

The customers base that they have acquired through these 10 years of iPhone, is just impeccable.

An iPhone user will seldom look at the other brands just because of the continuos incremental updates that they have brought over the years which is more than enough for a smartphone user.

If we look at what most of the users do on their smartphone, we can understand that users just need a snappy performance instead of gimmicky features.

Just think for a moment what exactly you do on your smartphone throughout the day. Social media, taking pictures, email, web browsing, media consumption like Netflix or YouTube, little bit of gaming now and then, instant messaging apps… did I miss on anything else? Maybe I did, but most of us use smartphone for above mentioned stuffs for which we don’t really need more than a damn snappy smartphone, which iPhone has been doing for a decade.

This philosophy is taking iPhone to next level with each iteration, no gimmicks but you get what you need.

Hope you liked the article.

Feedback would be appreciated since I am a noob as a writer but I do follow technology closely from years.

Thanks for reading!!
