What I learned in 2015
Taking risks is always worth it. What holds us back 100% of the time is the fear of failing. What exactly is at stake anyway? Our confidence? Our ego? The truth is taking a leap of faith is always worth it. Even when we fail, we learn something out of it. So basically, it is a win win deal. This leads me to my next point.
Faith can move mountains. In french they say “L’homme propose et Dieu dispose” which literally translates to “Man proposes, and God disposes”. God always has the last word so why not trust Him? Also our minds are too narrow to dream Big enough. So Faith + irrational dreaming will yield to a guaranteed bright tomorrow. (Knowing this doesn’t kill as well → James 2:17 )
Do not get too comfortable. Being young means dreaming the impossible. I truly believe we are eternal learners, and for us to keep on discovering, and building our plethora of knowledge; sitting still does not help. It is easy to achieve one thing, and let the exhilarating feeling of accomplishment get to us. Keep that fire burning, and keep the thirst to achieve more.
Friends are indispensable. People are important in our lives, even when you are the introverted, i can do everything by myself type of person. You need people around you to boost your mood, and encourage you. Plus doing life alone kind of sucks.
Staying fit is important. There is nothing worse than running a 5K, and have a 65 years old woman run past you TWICE…when you are still on your first lap. If you are like me, you wish to be that 65 year old super fit mama. :) Well, it is sadly a lifetime worth of working out habit. Why not start today?
Lastly, It is OK to not have it all figured out. This one should speak for itself. In the wise words of DJ Khaled, there will always be another one. Bless up.
