The NBA’s bubble approach has allowed the league to play games in a strict no in person fan attendance style. However, sports reporter Taylor Rooks has been giving us NBA bubble content through her social media posts, and it has been a great way for fans to connect to the action. This is important because this shows how we can have exclusive access to news and information through social media.

Social media allows journalists to distribute exclusive information at a very quick rate and the NBA’s bubble situation has made that a challenge with its rules and stipulations. Now that the players are being forced to stay in the bubble, and there is limited reporting access inside, getting content about what’s going on is a little tricky.

Taylor Rooks is one of the most famous sports reporters out right now. She’s known for her viral interviews that show players really opening up. Being the innovative reporting that she is, Rooks has been documenting NBA action and posting it to social media so fans can be updated. Rooks has been posting interviews she’s gotten from inside the bubble, and she has posted those videos on Twitter and Instagram.

In addition to posting clips of interviews on social media, she has also been able to attend the games that are played in the bubble. As a result, she has been able to record court side action. That type of angle in the bubble is rare, as there are limited reporters. Her shots from the sidelines have been giving fans an intimate look at the games, just by being on social media. She has been able to get cool shots of game winners, buzz worthy plays and even some on court tension.

Given the current social climate with the Black Lives Matter movement, Rooks has also been able to use social media to tell and show fans what athletes are doing to show support of the movement and protest against police brutality.

Taylor Rooks’ social media contributions show how journalists are using social media platforms to bring viewers the content they crave. In the times of a pandemic, it’s important for us to find new ways to bring news and content to audiences and journalists are using social media as a means to do that. Social media allows for more in-depth, and quick coverage. As a result, audiences can get what they need, when they need it.
