Maybe accidentally and maybe not, but you fundamentally misinterpreted my words. I am not trying to say that white males are the only qualified, but that those who even apply (ergo get hired) are predominantly white males. I interview people on daily basis for a company with employees of over 30 nationalities. The reason I even chose this company is its diversity, as I myself am from a different country and would feel an outsider otherwise. But you have to understand that I see non-white non-males in interviews once in 2 months at best. And of course vast majority of employees end up being white males because of this and not because we’re all evil racist bastards with an agenda, that flammable click-bait articles like this want you to believe.
There may as well be a systematic problem of unequal access to education/scholarships and/or differential treatment between races/genders that leads to them being underrepresented on the market, and I’m more than happy to help addressing that issue. But this text doesn’t even want to mention *that*. It instead simply antagonizes an entire industry, in a thinly veiled attempt of getting likes and recommendations by the community that thrives almost exclusively on being professionally offended without even a remote interest of thinking of anyone else’s side, let alone trying to help with the solution. This article and those like it just abuse flammable topics to get clicks. They aim to sound emancipated but end up being nothing but malignant. And I am calling it out for what it is.
