For the busy career woman, a regular beauty regimen can fall by the wayside. But there are a few essentials that will keep you looking your best wherever you are. Count these as your beauty basics and bring them wherever you go.
Make sure you’re well stocked with these skincare essentials at all times!

  1. Sunblock
You can’t escape this one. Sunblock is the best investment you can make for your skin. Not only does it protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays and the oxidative effects of free radicals, which leads to fine lines and wrinkles in the long run, sunblock also serves as a great makeup base, helping your primer and foundation stay on longer. So slap on sunblock before anything else and reapply every few hours if you are outdoors.
  2. Blotting Papers
By mid-day, unless you have dry skin, chances are your complexion begins to look greasy and shiny. To keep the mid-day shine at bay, keep a stash of blotting papers in your makeup bag or office drawer. It helps to maintain a matte complexion all day long, and can be a saviour right before an impromptu meeting or after-work drinks. Blotting papers are a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to maintain a fresh looking complexion all day by removing the oil on your skin surface.
  3. Tinted Lip Balm
In the office, or any air-conditioned room, the air within can be dry and stale, which can lead to dry, flaky lips. Having a trusty stick of lip balm in your desk drawer will help to keep your lips well moisturised all day.
And what’s even better than lip balm? Tinted lip balm! It not only keeps your lips moisturised, it also adds a pop of colour for a more polished look. Plus, tinted lip balm can also work as a subtle cream blush for happy hour. Simply dab a touch of it onto your cheeks to freshen up your complexion later in the day.
  4. Mascara
Mascara is the staple of the staples when it comes to beauty. Leave at least one tube of mascara in your handbag or desk drawer at the office. Just a few coats of mascara will make your eyes pop, or at least wake up those tired eyes. Not as in-your-face as kohl eyeliner but just as effective in making your eyes come alive, mascara is great for a quick touch up before meeting a client or a lunch date.
  5. Concealer
Concealer is a life-saver — it covers up blemishes, spots, and provides an even finish that masks blotchy skin or dark circles that resulted from pulling an all-nighter. So keep an emergency stash of concealer in your desk drawer. Concealer are also a great substitute for foundation, filling out the areas on your face where foundation might have smudged or rubbed off during the day.
  6. Hand Cream
Being in an air-conditioned office all day can leave your skin dry, resulting in peeling cuticles and fine lines on your hands. Applying some nourishing moisturiser once or twice a day will help keep your hands looking and feeling soft and young. Go for scented hand creams if your skin is not sensitive to it. Not only will you be hydrating your skin, your hands will also smell lovely!
