Cloud: Capacity covered up in the sky
If you needed to keep valuables safe and secure, you would keep them in a locker or safe place. Did you guys ever wonder where your personal information on the computer is stored ? Did you know everything we have ever done online has been stored to the “cloud”.

What is Cloud?
Cloud computing means storing and accessing data and programs over the internet instead of accessing your computer’s hard drive. So every text or site that you have visited is automatically stored on the cloud. The pictures that you have taken or received from others are also stored on the cloud. you might be wondering why do we need a cloud ? With increasing development of the cloud, all your work is with you wherever you go. For example, if you travel to another country and don’t have your laptop or computer with you, you can easily access all your files by using any computer or phone through the cloud. Many big named companies such as Microsoft and Amazon are developing their own cloud computing because of the power and potential it can have.
Even though cloud computing has been introduced over quite sometime, developers and engineers have come to the realization now of how powerful it can be. The potential of cloud computing is massive. More companies and Venture Capitalists are investing money into cloud computing research. The combination of artificial intelligence and computing has the potential to become huge in the coming years. For example, diabetes can be eliminated in the future with the use of cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Research can show the diabetic history of a patient and that can be stored on to the cloud. From there, scientist can program the cloud in such a way that the insulin pump automatically gives the patient the amount of dosage they need.

Issues with cloud
The problem with the cloud is that sometimes unnecessary information that we don’t care about becomes stored onto the cloud as well. Also most of the information that is on the cloud can startle people once they see it. For example, in case if you lose your phone and decide to buy a new one. It can be quite frustrating knowing the fact that all your photos and other document that were stored in the phone are gone too because of your unawareness of the cloud. But however, when you access your new phone you will be quite surprised at the fact that your old photos and documents were stored in the cloud even though you are unaware of it. This experience can be frightening because if someone can access your google account, they might have access to all your photos and documents.
Another major issue with the cloud is that it is totally dependent on your internet connection, as no cloud provider has the ability to provide 100% immunity from service outrages. So incase if your internet connection is poor most like your access to cloud will also be much slower which can be quite frustrating at times.

Final Word
Being a university student i personally feel that cloud is really helpful. As I always upload my documents to cloud so that i can have access to them whenever and wherever i want to.
