Books on Books on Books

Day 58 of the 100 Day Project

Books. I love ‘em. I love the way they feel on my fingertips and the words within them and the worlds they build and the insight and reflection they inspire.

I asked some friends what their favorite books as children were. They answered with: Island of the Blue Dolphins, Where the Wild Things Are, and Goodnight Moon. I loved Miss Nelson is Missing! Like too much, probably.

And then I asked about what they’re reading at present. One friend said Richard Wright’s autobiography and shared this quote: “I knew more than she thought I knew about the meaning of religion, the hunger of the human heart for that which is not and can never be, the thirst of the human spirit to conquer and transcend the implacable limitations of human life.”

Woof. Chew on that one, right?! This is day 58.
