What We Worry About When We’re No Longer Broke
Nicole Dieker

We were broke for several years, and are now in the midst of paying down our debt to get back to zero, and I recently indulged this thought of where our money would go next. Then I quickly realized that there are so many things that I’ve put off and that are due some financial attention, like replacing my 20 year old mattress, or getting adult fillings that my dentist recommends, or maybe taking a vacation that doesn’t involve visiting a relative, or most of all, buying real estate which will invite other expenses like furniture, taxes, etc.

Honestly, I think the next time (the only time so far) when I’ll have money to spend and nothing in need will be when my kids are out of daycare (5+ years) so I’m not even thinking about it anymore.
