1st hole

Sojourn to Sagamore – Lake George

Day 1

It was a magnificent day. At 10 AM it was all of 53 degrees. Does anyone have hand warmers? The best I could do was put on a fleece and Patagonia vest. Seeing the vistas, which are stellar, I warm up.

The locals know to wait until Noon to play when it is warmer. That’s why it is solidly booked all afternoon. Who knew?

Donald Ross designed the course in 1928 and he is one famous course designer. He designed many well-known courses and though Scottish by birth, he lived most of his life in the US, starting out at Pinehurst.

Moving to the driving range – it was unique and I tried to warm up, since after looking toward the first hole I realized I would need some extra help.

Let’s look at a few holes. Take the 7 hole. You can make your own determination.

I lost an inordinate number of balls. Actually broke down and needed to buy some after loosing a bag full. A sleeve was an astounding $11! I found some others for $8, since I was playing later in the week and assumed there would be more lost balls.(Will continue with Day 2)
