Guy Fawkes Night (Bonfire Night) 5 Nov 2014

Bonfire Night

It was a gorgeous night yesterday. I'm quite surprised that the pub which is located in front of my home lighted up the light bonfires and set off fireworks at the outdoor area. I can saw the fireworks even just seating at home, how wonderful. (I'm very lazy, ha-ha :P)

The reason that I'm so excited was because I haven’t have a change to take a closer look to the fireworks. It was extremely crowded if there are any large-scale fireworks in Hong Kong. Although I had saw a fireworks in Hong Kong Disneyland and Japan Disneyland before, base on the safety issues, the fireworks were really far away from people. So it was very joyful for me to see the fireworks in a very close distance.

To know more about Guy Fawkes Night. I had did some research on it.

Guy Fawkes Night is a night that the British people celebrates each year. It is a night to celebrates a defeating of a conspiracy that attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London on November 5, 1605. “The bombardment was planned by a group of Catholic conspirators, which included Guy Fawkes. The explosives would have been set off when King James I of England (King James VI of Scotland) and many parliamentary members were in the building.”(information from timeanddate.com) Of cause, the conspirators were not success.

Therefore ,Guy Fawkes Night is annually held on November 5 and people will celebrates with fireworks in that night.

Really looking forward to the Bonfire Night next year. ☺I'm planning to book a table in the pub so I can have a better view of the fireworks.
