An intense and dramatic film, Hotel Mumbai is the directorial debut of award-winning Australian writer/director Anthony Maras (The Palace II).

With searing realism, this historical crime thriller depicts the terrorist attacks on the heritage Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, India on 26 November 2008, part of a series of twelve coordinated shooting and bombing attacks that were executed with brutal efficiency by ten Pakistani members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), an Islamic militant organisation, across Mumbai, India, unleashing mayhem and terror.

During the 26/11 attacks, the media, while endeavouring to keep the public informed of events unfolding in the Taj Hotel minute by minute, unwittingly allowed the terrorists to use that information for their own purposes and untrained traffic police sent in to deal with the siege were completely unprepared for such an event.

From porters to head chef, the Taj Hotel’s motto has always been ‘Guest is God’. The heroism and bravery of staff at the luxury hotel during the 26/11 attacks were a true testament to this guiding principle and breathtakingly captured in this film.
